Reference for success

Sound equipment: I practiced with a boom pole before the main shoot. After enough practice I used it in the main shoot for sound effects such as; the fridge opening and closing, the main character walking down the stairs, etc.

Research sound artists: Some of the sounds in the final edit I had some influence from sound artists that helped suit the genre and theme of the short film.

Different applications: I used adobe audition to mix sounds and make them sound more distorted or more clear, and I had someone to react to the sounds. But I found that changing the sounds was fairly easy, as I had come up with a lot of the ideas so I had a good idea as to what would sound right in the edit.

A) My written communication skills will most likely improve slightly, as I helped with the script for the short film. But, there is still lots of room for improvement. However by the end of this unit I hope that I will increase my knowledge and understanding with my written communication skills. Here is an example of my written work:

B) My verbal communication skills should be expected to improve, as I spent most of the pre-production and production process with the group I was with. By the end of November/the unit an increase should be the end result.

C) My practical communication skills would also most likely increase, as I would get more experience with sound equipment, i.e. boom pole.

D) My creativity skills would improve in this unit as my role for the short film was the 'sound director'. I have never had this role, and in finding new sounds I may find that I'll be creative in terms of style and effects.
